#20 Tetzaveh  (Maqam Sika)

Maqam - a set of notes, with traditions that define the relationship between them, their patterns and expression.  A musical mode.  The Maqamat (plural) are patient, inwardly drawn, they are roomy enough for poetry. We worked the concept of the give-and-take between poetry and music.

Vessel 

Present, but hidden –

recede to the heart of the story

the quiet center.

For all the qualities we remember --

we remember humility.

Not for accomplishments

For irrelevance.

I am an empty vessel, said Blue,

We recede so creativity happens

no place empty of G*d,

the vessel cannot be too empty

but it can be too full.

No room for G*d in a vessel too full.

So forget the activities of expressed leadership.

Preside elsewhere --

none of our story could have happened

without you.
